CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Violet Martin, 85, of Charles City passed away Friday, November 14, 2003, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Funeral services will be 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at the United Methodist Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Nashua. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

She is survived by two sons: Gerry Martin Sr., of Charles City and Cordell (Shirley) Martin, of Nashua; two daughters: Karen (Roger) Jacobson, of Omaha, Neb. and Ellen (Joe) Putney, of Garner; one brother: Ransom Bouillon, of Melcher; one sister: Josette Bailey, of Dixon, Ill.; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Henry E. Martin in 1980; her parents; three sisters: Yolanda Ames, Raymonda Bean and Charlotte Bryan; two grandsons: Roy E. Martin and Jeffrey L. Martin; one great-grandson: Jevon Joseph Lee.

Violet Martha Martin was born March 30, 1918, in Wright County, Iowa, the daughter of Gus and mary (Geiger) Bouillon. She graduated from 8th grade at Powersville Country School in Floyd County.

She was united in marriage to Henry Martin on November 18, 1935. To this union four children were born. They lived in Carrville, on a farm between Nashua and Charles City. As well as a homemaker, she worked at the Oliver Plant, in Charles City, Mays Drug Store and did housecleaning for several years. Violet enjoyed crocheting, fishing, traveling and spending time with her her family.
