Eileene Muller was born March 27, 1914 in rural Rudd, Floyd county, Iowa, the daughter of Hazael and Chloe (Nelson) Ethington. During her school years, she played field hockey and was known to be very athletic. Eileene graduated from Rudd High School.

Eileene furthered her education in Minnesota, attending and graduating from the Minneapolis School of Art. She painted, drew and created her works of art with many mediums. Eileene had the privilege to create as an artist for Walt Disney in the mid 1930's. She painted the background forest scenery in Disney's first animated feature film, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." Eileene was invited back to participate on another project the following year, however she declined due to the fact she had begun dating her future husband.

On October 6, 1940, Eileene was united in marriage to Alton 'Scoop' Muller at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church in Osage. Eileene and Scoop enjoyed traveling and especially treasured a trip together to the far west states, such as Washington and Oregon. They were also avid fans of the Charles City softball and baseball teams and took great pride in their large vegetable and flower gardens.

Some of Eileene's other favorite interests and activities included collecting dolls and household antiques, cheering for the Twins, Cubs, Bulls and Hawkeyes. Her children fondly remember the many decorated wedding cakes Eileene created for her family and friends. Steve and Shelley assisted their mom by offering their hands and laps for holding the cakes in the car while transporting them to their final destination. Vacations, picnics, cooking large family meals and entertaining guests were special enjoyments in Eileen's life.

Eileene was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City, St. John's Women's Church Circle and a charter member of the Charles City Art Association. Eileene will be remembered as being a feisty woman, strong-willed and having a wonderful sense of humor. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Those grateful for having had the privilege of sharing in her life are her two children, Shelley Muller of Charles City; Steven Muller and his wife, Linda of Stoughton, Wisc.; her grandson, James Muller and his wife, Emily of Madison, Wisc.; and there son, Eileene's great grandson, Jameson Muller; a sister, Roberta Norby and her husband, Harold of Nora Springs; and a brother, Eldon Ethington of Charles City.

Preceding Eileene in death are her husband, Alton Scoop Muller in November of 1966; her parents; one sister, Shirley Page and one brother, Gayle Ethington.
