Lois J. Saiz, 69, of 603 Hildreth St., Charles City, died Monday, September 1, 2003, at the Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 5, at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City, with the Rev. Mike McAbee officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Those planning memorials or an expression of sympathy may direct them to the family.

Lois Jean Saiz was born August 23, 1934, in Nora Springs, Iowa. She was one of five children born to Leslie and Idell (Moore) Koehler. Lois attended school and graduated from Nora Springs High School in 1952. On October 11, 1952, Lois was united in marriage to Arturo Saiz in Charles City. Lois was a homemaker and enjoyed being one very proudly. Lois was a dedicated wife and nurturing mother, she had a great passion for reading, especially science fiction and the Civil War era. She would also pass the time knitting and completing works of crochet. Her sons Art and Bob expressed that her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Cedar Valley CB Club.

Grateful for having had the privilege of sharing Lois's life are her two sons, Art Saiz of West Des Moines; Bob Saiz of Des Moines; two brothers, Harry (Janet) Koehler of Denver, Iowa; James (Marie) Koehler of Nashua; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Arturo on March 27, 1994; two brothers Bobby and Billy Koehler.
