Mary Walk, age 81, a resident of 1103 Kelly Street, Charles City, died Monday, August 4, 2003, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa.

Graveside services for Mary Walk will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City. The Rev. Karen Dungan, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Osage, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Visitation will be at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 10:15 a.m. on Friday. Friends are welcome to gather at the Hauser Funeral Home and process to the cemetery together.

Mary Micich Walk was born February 7, 1922, at Charles City, the daughter of Luka and Jilia (Kobacevich) Micich. She graduated from the Charles City High School. On December 24, 1942, she was united in marriage to John Walk at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Mary worked for several years as a linotype operator in the 1940's. Antiques were interesting to Mary with her specialty being dolls of all sizes. Mary also enjoyed animals.

Living family members include her son, David (Phyllis) Walk of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Robert Micich and Lozo (Connie) Micich both of Charles City; and a sister, Dorothy, (Novak) Micich of Warren, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Diane Walk, and three brothers, George, Michael, and Luka Micich.
