CHARLES CITY, IOWA -- Gloria 'Pat' Schwartzkopf, 69, a resident of 1608 Missouri Avenue, Charles City, died Thursday, August 7, 2003, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Funeral services for Gloria 'Pat' Schwartzkopf will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. The Rev. David Kramer, pastor of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nashua, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday.

Gloria 'Pat' Mae Eckenrod Schwartzkopf was born September 7, 1933, in Chickasaw County, the daughter of Leonard and Cleo (Tucker) Eckenrod. She attended the Republic school and graduated from the Nashua High School. 'Pat' worked for several years at Salsbury Laboratories and Sears before her marriage to Francis Schwartzkopf on September 7, 1960, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Francis died on June 29, 2000. She was a past member of the Moose Lodge. Traveling was an important part of 'Pat's' life as she would visit her brothers and sisters, go to various casinos, went sightseeing on the Mississippi, and participated in the various functions of the Oliver pattern ship personnel.

Living family members include two children, Jeff (Gail) Schwartzkopf of Floyd, and Vicki (Tim) Erickson of Prescott, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Raquel and Ryan Schwartzkopf; four brothers, Robert (Fonda) Eckenrod and Kenny (Mable) Eckenrod both of Waterloo, Rich (Lorraine) Eckenrod of Charles City, and Jerry (Diane) Eckenrod of Belle Plaine; two sisters, Mary Lou (Bob) Haaker of Flippin, Ariz., and Shirley Eckenrod of Muskego, Wisc.; and two sisters-in-law, Fern Eckenrod of Nashua, and Pauline Eckenrod of New Hampton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Don and Les Eckenrod.
