Pauline M. Kolbet was born in Marble Rock on November 7, 1920. She was the only child of Margaret (Kramer) and Charles L. Staudt. Pauline attended school in Roseville and has remained in the Marble Rock/Rockford area her entire life. On February 12, 1941, she was united in marriage to Leonard J. Kolbet at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Roseville. The couple purchased their farm seven miles east of Rockford in 1949 and have remained living at that same location since. Leonard and Pauline had the wonderful opportunity of celebrating their 62nd wedding anniversary this past year. Pauline was a dedicated wife and nurturing mother. Her family and church activities were especially important to her. In her younger years, she assisted her daughter, Jean Ann's 4-H club, as a leader. Some of Pauline's favorite leisure activities and interests included reading, collecting news and history memorabilia, flower and vegetable gardening, raising pet cats, watching fireworks, and attending parades and fairs. She and Leonard treasured their time together attending area establishments where they could dance to big band music. Pauline was a very kind, yet strong willed woman with a charming sense of humor.

Pauline will be missed dearly by family and friends who shared in her life. She is survived by her husband, Leonard of Rockford; one daughter, Jean Ann Briggs and her husband, Dwight of Omaha, NE, one son, Jerry Kolbet of Rockford; two granddaughters, one grandson, one great granddaughter and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends
