Donna Jean Schlick, 72, a resident of 706 South Main Street, Charles City, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Funeral services for Donna Schlick will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Temple Baptist Church in Charles City. The Rev. Douglas Deford, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in West Side Cemetery, Marble Rock, at 1 p.m.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and at the church an hour prior to the service on Monday.

Donna Jean Lamb Schlick was born April 5, 1931, in Floyd County, the daughter of Lee and Gayle (Heft) Lamb. She graduated from Marble Rock High School, and on May 10, 1957 she was united in marriage to Alvin D. Schlick at Faith Baptist Church, Marble Rock. Donna worked as a nurses-aid at Cedar Valley Hospital for several years, and also for Home Health Aids. She also worked as a secretary and darkroom worker for Schlick Photography. Donna was a member of Temple Baptist Church, and also was a past President, Secretary, and Treasurer of the Baptist Ladies Group and the Happy Hour Club. Donna was a Foster Grandparent for the 2nd Grade at Lincoln Elementary School. She enjoyed crafts and her cats.

Donna is survived and lovingly remembered by her brothers: Carl R. (Norma) Lamb of Estherville, and Marvin L. (Alice) Lamb of Charles City; a step daughter, Marilyn (Mike) Carroll of Shawnee, Kan.; a step son, David (Diane) Schlick of North Liberty; a foster daughter, Alice Embretson of Charles City; a sister-in-law, Velma Schlick of Charles City; several grandchildren, and a foster grandchild, Mark Embretson of Norfolk, Virginia.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Alvin.
