Clarence Theodore Brude

Clarence Brude, 95, a former resident of 207 Oliver Street, Charles City, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Port Charles Assisted Living in Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa.

Funeral services for Clarence Brude will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2003, at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Revs. David Werges and Dennis Niezwaag, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2003, and at the church an hour prior to the service.

Clarence Theodore Brude was born February 24, 1908, in Floyd County, the son of Christian and Mary (Hauser) Brude. Clarence graduated from the Charles City High School. On June 5, 1929, he was united in marriage to Elda Miller at the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City. They lived in Charles City all of their lives where Clarence worked at the White Farm Equipment Company until his retirement in 1968. Elda died on August 24, 1994.

He was a member of the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lutheran Brotherhood, White Farm Retirees, Senior Citizens, and life member of the Floyd County Historical Society. Spending time with family and friends was very important to Clarence.

Living family members include a daughter: Gloria (Keith) Moon of Johnston; three grandsons: Bryan, Barry and Bradley Moon; and two great granddaughters: Katherine and Samantha Moon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife.

The family suggests memorials be directed to Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church or Hospice of North Iowa Charles City site.

Hauser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
