Max Wilkinson, 65, a resident of 1844 Cedar View Road, Charles City, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.

Funeral services for Max Wilkinson will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2003, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City. Pastor Gayle Wilcox will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2003, and an hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday, March 15, 2003.

Max Eugene Wilkinson was born September 15, 1937, at Des Moines, the son of Kenneth and Ila (Williams) Wilkinson. He graduated from the Rockford High School in 1956.

On June 16, 1957, Max was united in marriage to May Hansen at the Methodist Church in Nashua. While farming, Max also worked at White Farm Equipment Company for 28 years, and then as a carpenter until his retirement in 1999. Max was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and had served as a 4-H leader. Collecting antiques and tractors, both large and small, woodworking, and camping were some of his hobbies. Spending time with his family and sharing their lives together was very important to Max.

Living family members include his wife, May of Charles City; five children, Stephen (Gayla) Wilkinson of Ocean View, Del., Susan Wilkinson of Charles City, Jeffery (Stephanie) Wilkinson of Ocean View, Del., Jerry (Karen) Wilkinson of Ocean View, Del., and June (Timothy) Kueter of Charles City; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Samantha, Bo, Suzanne, Christina, Max, and Justin; a brother, Kenneth (Eileen) Wilkinson of Hampton; two sisters, Elner Burcum and Helen Nelson both of Arizona; a sister-in-law, Joan Wilkinson; two step brothers, Lee Wilson of Oregon, and Robert Wilson of New Mexico; two step sisters, Geraldine Pletch of Alexander, and Elizabeth Crotty of Waverly and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bill and Donnie Wilkinson, and a step brother, Max Wilson.

Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City is in charge of arrangements.
