Pauline Bucheister, 84, a resident of 1205 E Street, Charles City, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Funeral services for Pauline Bucheister will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 6, 2003, at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. The Rev. Irving Sandberg, pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Nashua.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2003 and from 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday.

Pauline Frances Messier Bucheister was born April 9, 1918, at Nora Springs, the daughter of Erwin and Ruth (Gardener) Messier. She graduated from the Rudd High School in 1937. On September 6, 1937, she was united in marriage to Cecil Bucheister at Albert Lea, MN. For thirty-one years Pauline worked at Damon's Department Store retiring in 1985. She moved to Charles City in 1992. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and the Cedar Side Club. Among her interests were crocheting, and knitting. The time spent with her grandchildren was very meaningful to Pauline.

Living family members include a son, Ramond (Patt) Bucheister of Italy; a son-in-law, Jim Mitchell of Charles City; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and a brother, Richard Messier of Rockford.

Her parents, husband in 1983, a daughter, Marlys Mitchell, and a nephew preceded her in death.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Messiah Lutheran Church.

Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City is in charge of arrangements.
