Richard "Dick" Bluhm, 51, a resident of 1901 Clark Street, Charles City, died Thursday, February 6, 2003, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.
A funeral Mass for Dick Bluhm will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Monsignor Stanley Hayek, pastor, will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday where St. Catherine's Circle will recite the Rosary at 4:30 p.m., and where there will be a Vigil Scriptural Wake Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church an hour prior to the mass.
Richard Carl Bluhm was born January 2, 1952, at Charles City, the son of Orland and Olga (Urness) Bluhm. He graduated from the Charles City High School in 1970. In 1972 he was united in marriage to Linda Nolte. They later divorced. In 1975 he married Rita Kreeger. They later divorced. Dick was currently employed at All States Quality Foods and had also worked as a landscaper. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Dick also worked with goats and was a member of the Goat Breeders Association.
He was an outdoorsman and a gardener. Dick also collected memorabilia of Richard Petty, NASCAR racing, as well as Roy Rogers, and was a fan of classic TV. He "took care" of his sisters, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Living family members include three children, Rebecca (Mark) O'Neill of Madison, WI, and Sarah Bluhm and Christopher (Monica) Bluhm both of Charles City; three sisters, Barb (Bill) Reams of Nashua, Nancy Vance of Charles City, and Jean (Dave) Dehtan of Farmington, NM; and three grandchildren, Logan O'Neill, Brittany Bluhm, and Jesse Bluhm.
His parents preceded him in death.
