Vada Loomer, 95, a resident of 602 11th Street, Charles City, died Saturday, January 11, 2003, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home.

Graveside services will be held at a later date.

Vada Alice Jones Loomer was born June 18, 1907 in Chickasaw County, the daughter of Jacob and Araminta (Carter) Jones. She received her education from rural Chickasaw County country schools. On Aug. 24, 1926, she was united in marriage to Walter Loomer at Charles City. They resided all their lives in Charles City. She was a member of the Homemakers Club.

Living family members include a daughter, Norma Breckenridge (Gail) of Louisville, KY; a son-in-law, Doug Havlik of Cedar Rapids; fifteen grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

Her parents, husband in 1984, a daughter, Helen Havlik, two sons, Donald Jones and John Loomer, and four brothers, Harry, Arnold, Neal, and Victor Jones preceded her in death.

Hauser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Vada Loomer, a long time resident of Charles City, passed away in January 2003. Graveside services for her will be Sunday, June 1, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Riverside Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the ceremony.
