WILLIAM BOGGESS SR.

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - William Boggess Sr., 65, a resident of 2292 Walnut Ave. in Charles City, died Friday (Dec. 27, 2002) at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St. in Charles City, with the Rev. Art Wegner, pastor of Faith Bible Chapel, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Sioux Cemetery, New Auburn, Wis. There will be a flag presentation by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit at the Hauser Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Hauser Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday.

William Urban Boggess, Sr. was born Oct. 20, 1937, at New Auburn, Wis., the son of Lial and Mildred (Gavin) Boggess. He received his education at Cameron, Wis. William served in the United States Navy. On Dec. 12, 1959, he was united in marriage to Phyllis LaPoint at Chetek, Wis. They moved to Charles City in 1980. William worked as a mechanic as well as in construction. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, woodworking and spending time with his family.

Living family members include his wife Phyllis of Charles City; four sons, William Urban Boggess, Jr. of Webster City, Daniel Boggess (Tammy) of Cameron, Wis., Richard Allen Boggess of Elroy, Wis., and Lial Boggess of Marshalltown; two daughters, Tonia Boggess and Kimberly Boggess both of Charles City; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; his mother, Mildred Boggess of Cameron, Wis.; a Brother, Mitchell Boggess (Dawn) of Beloit, Wis.; and three sisters, Charlotte Morris and Violet Buckwalter both of Cameron, Wis., and Margaret Thibedeau of Rice Lake, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1970, and a son, Michael in 1973.

Hauser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
