ROCKFORD, IOWA -- Paul William Mohring, 83, of Rockford, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002 at home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, Monday, December 2, 2002, at Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt, Charles City. Officiating will be the Rev. Dennis Niezwaag of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. today at the funeral chapel. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Paul was born one of four children to Paul T. and Mary A. "Venz" Mohring near Floyd. They moved to a farm near Rockford where Paul and his siblings attended the Hobert rural school near Charles City. Paul continued farming with his family. He also worked for Harley Peters at the hog buying station in Charles City.

Paul enjoyed reading magazines and books, especially his Bible where he found the truth and the right way of doing things. He also helped his neighbors, friends and area farmers. He liked to fish, and hunted rabbits with his sister. They truck farmed a 10 acre garden plot and sold produce. He enjoyed the outdoors. He attended St. John where he was baptized.

Paul is survived by his last sister, Elta Mohring who lived at home with him.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and his other two sisters Martha in 1948 and Mable Mohring who died in 1991.

Fullerton Hage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
