CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Marlene G. Noack, formerly of this area, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at her home in Cedar Falls of natural causes. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at the St. Paulus Cemetery in Guttenberg. The Rev. Myron Brockmeyer will officiate.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at the Richardson Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Cedar Falls, where the family will be present from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Clayton County Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 846, Elkader, Iowa 52043.

Marlene was born January 16, 1938, in rural Butler County, the daughter of James and Violet (Dralle) McNeilus. She graduated from Marble Rock High School in 1955 and Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) with her two-year teaching certificate. On June 6, 1959, she was united in marriage to Virgil Clay Noack in Marble Rock. He died Dec. 17, 1997. She taught third grade at Dike Elementary School from 1957 to 1962.

Marlene is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven P. and Cindy Noack of Iowa City; daughter and son-in-law, Sue J. and Carter Larson of Chattanooga, Tenn; five grandchildren: Michael and twins, Will and Claire Noack, all of Iowa City, and twins, Kailey and Kenadie Larson of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four brothers Jim (Deb) McNeilus of Charles City, Larry (Deb) McNeilus of Matoon, Ill., Dale (Cindy) McNeilus of Sleepy Hollow, Ill., and Harlan McNeilus of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and three sisters, Marilyn (Dave) Meyers of Grand Rapids, Mich., Marge (TJ) Tjepkes of Charles City, and Marsha (John) Counsell of Riceville.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
