CHARLES CITY, IOWA - William Conard, 53, a former resident of 1909 Cedar Lane, died Sunday (Sept. 29, 2002) at Salsbury Baptist Home in Charles City.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City, with the Rev. Ruth Yeaton, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ida Grove Cemetery with military honors conducted at the graveside.

Friends may call from 4 until the service time at Hauser Funeral Home Tuesday.

William Conard, 53, a former resident of 1909 Cedar Crest Lane, Charles City, died Sunday, September 29, at the Salsbury Baptist Home in Charles City.

Funeral services for William Conard will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. The Rev. Ruth Yeaton, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ida Grove Cemetery in Ida Grove. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until service time on Tuesday.

William LeRoy Conard was born November 24, 1948, at Ida Grove, the son of William E. and Louise (Feller) Conard. He attended school at Newark, Del., and later received his GED while in the military. William served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1967 to 1971. In 1978 he was united in marriage to Hae Sun Pak. They later divorced. William enjoyed music and spending time in nature.

Living family members include two sons, Cpl. William E. Conard II of Camp Pendleton, Calif., and LC pl. Raymond P. Conard II of Stephenville, Texas; his father, Lt. Colonel (retired) William E. Conard and wife Patricia of Ida Grove; a brother, Kermit Conard and wife Pat of Anaheim, Calif.; four sisters and their husbands, Kathleen and Pat McCann, and Darlene and Jim Franke both of Charles City, Linda and Tom Colbert of Elkton, Maryland, and Teresa and Terry McCann of North East, Maryland; four stepsisters and their husbands, Colonel Susan Lawrence and Neil Sonne of Mannheim, Germany, Julie and Patrick Garoutte of Sioux City, and Kelli and Devlun Whiteing of Ida Grove; two stepbrothers, James Summers of Battle Creek, and Steve Lingren and wife Kathy of Schleswig; and many nieces and nephews.

His mother, maternal grandparents, Julius and Alma Feller and paternal grandparents, Raymond and Eva Conard preceded him in death.
