NASHUA, IOWA - Johnnie W. Beck, 82, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002 at the Ninth Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City of cancer.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002 at St. John Lutheran Church in Nashua with burial to follow in Sunnyside Memory Gardens in Charles City.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Chenoweth and Son Funeral Home in Nashua and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Johnnie was born June 25, 1920 in Floyd County to Lee and Helen (Bullen) Beck. He was educated in country school through the eighth grade.
He was united in marriage to Wilma C. Ebding Nov. 7, 1943 at the United Church of Christ/Pleasant Hill in rural Nashua. He farmed and worked for White Equipment Co., retiring from the Heat Treatment Department in 1982.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma; two daughters: Myrna (Donald) Greene of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Jeanne (Gary) Olson of Nashua; two sons: Charles (Kathy) Beck of Zumbrota, Minn., and Robert (Joyce) Beck of Nashua; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; Michelle (Joe) Gribben and Amanda and Matthew of Eden Prairie, Minn., Eric (Kim) Olson and Kallie and Kacey of New Hampton; Brad (Andie) Olson and Drew and Rylie of Osage, Jason Beck of Rochester, Minn., Douglas Beck and Michael Beck of Zumbrota, Minn., and Travis Beck of Nashua; one brother; Donald (Betty) Beck of Moline, Ill.; three sisters: Beth Bahlmann of Charles City, Lois (Virgil) Eckenrod of Rudd and June (Daniel) Franzen of Nashua; his mother-in-law, Clausine Ebding of Charles City; a brother-in-law, Robert Oleson of Charles City.
Johnnie was preceded in death by one sister, Velma Oleson; his parents and his father-in-law William Ebding.
Chenoweth and Son Funeral Home of Nashua is in charge of arrangements.
