APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA - Leonard C. Pfefferkorn, 79 of Apache Junction, Arizona, and formerly of Charles City, Iowa, passed away on September 10, 2002.

He was born in Charles City, March 29, 1923, to Leonard and Alma (Jung) Pfefferkorn. He was united in marriage to Doris Westergard on May 14, 1945. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. Leonard was employed at Salsbury Laboratories and Floyd County Memorial Hospital.

He and his wife resided in Ft. Collins, Colorado from 1974-1976, when they moved to Big Fork, Montana. In September, 1994, they moved to Apache Junction.

Leonard is survived by his wife Doris, daughter Mrs. Linda (Jim) Bartlett, Kalispell, Mont., son John (Debbie) Pfefferkorn, Lakeside, Mont.; grandchildren Josh and Jacy Bartlett, 2 step-grandchildren, 2 step-greatgrandchildren, half brother and sister Harold Barkhausen and Mrs. Evelyn (Bernard) Smith, Waverly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, half brother Robert and Uncle Mr. and Mrs. Herman (Lillie) Begeman with whom he lived during his high school years.

Apache Junction Mortuary, Apache Junction, Arizona, was in charge of arrangements.
