Josephine (Mrs. Robert) Turner, 88, a resident of 205 Oliver Street, Charles City, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City. Funeral services for Josephine Turner will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 19,2002, at Trinity United Methodist Church. The Rev. Paul Wilcox, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and an hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.

Josephine Louise Nehls Turner was born March 28, 1914, in Floyd County, the daughter of Benjamin and Tina (Katcher) Nehls. She graduated from the Charles City High School. On April 1, 1939, Josephine was united in marriage to Robert Turner at Charles City. She worked for many years at J.C. Penny and Ben Franklin. Josephine was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women-Grace Group, had taught Sunday school, Midi's, Senior Citizens, Heritage Club, McKinley Homecraft Club, various card clubs, and had been a Den Mother. She enjoyed, gardening, fishing, sewing, crafting, and playing cards.

Living family members include her husband, Bob of Charles City; two sons and their wives, Don and Janie Turner of Hot Springs Village, Ark., and Roger and Karen Turner of Cedar Rapids; three granddaughters, Valerie Sistern, Becky Horn, and Ami Turner; two great grandsons; three step grandchildren, Lori Grofthoff, and George and Ben Goudy, a brother, Richard Nehls of Anchorage, Alaska; and a sister, Helen McSwain of San Diego, Calif.

Her parents, a son, "Bobby Joe," and two brothers preceded her in death.

The family suggests memorials be directed to Hospice of North Iowa Charles City site.
