Robert Martin Bryan, 85, of Gilroy passed away June 22, 2002. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at 1 p.m. at the Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy.

Robert was the oldest of eight children born to Thomas and Ruth Bryan in Montezuma on March 23, 1917. Robert graduated from Charles City High School in 1935 and was the doorman at the Charles Theater. He will be remembered for his trumpet playing.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy L. and Bob Thombs of Nicholasville, Ky.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Bryan Weiss of Alameda, Calif.; a brother, James Bryan of Geneva, Ill.; and many friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Tommy Lou, his parents, three brothers, two sisters and a son.
