Clear Lake - Jeffrey Allen Karr, 51, of 805 S. Eighth St., Clear Lake, died Wednesday (Jan. 21, 2009) at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at the St. John's Lutheran Church, 1921 317th St., Osage, with Pastor Byron Northwick officiating. Burial will take place at the Sunnyside Memory Gardens in Charles City, with full military honors conducted by members of the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., today, Jan. 23, 2009 at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye Ave., Nora Springs.

Jeff was born Oct. 3, 1957, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Marvin W. and Dolores D. (Gosse) Karr. He attended RRMR schools and served in the United States Marine Corps for six years. He worked for Yohn Redi Mix in Clear Lake, and most recently helped out on various farms in the area.

Jeff enjoyed his 1966 Ford Mustang, motorcycles and working on cars. He also loved being out on the farm and in the fields.

He is survived by his parents, Marvin and Dolores Karr, Rudd; his sisters, Janice (Chuck) Hedrick, Rudd and Vickie (John) Douglas, Rudd; his nieces and nephews, John Douglas Jr., Amy, Tony and Krissy Kramer; and his grandma, Florence Gosse, Rudd.

Jeff was preceded in death by his brothers, Greg and Christopher; and his grandparents, August Gosse, Cleone Karr and Thelma Benter.
