CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Funeral services for Fred W. Symonds, 88, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. (DST) at the Hauser Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

A resident of the Carrville area more than 50 years, he died Wednesday at the Cedar Valley Hospital. He was married to Mable E. DeTiene March 30, 1910. She died in January 1951.

Surviving are two sons, Melvin Symonds, Nashua; Ralph Symonds, rural Charles City; two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Isablle) Dorwin, Charles City; Mrs. Edward (Margaret) Druehl, rural Charles City; a brother Ernest Symonds, Cumberland, Iowa, and four grandchildren.
