MARBLE ROCK, IOWA — Catherine Anne Woodruff, 73, formerly of Marble Rock, died Thursday (Feb. 4, 1999) at the O'Hare Regional Rehabilitation Center, in Denver, Colo.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Reid's Funeral Chapel, Greene, with Pastor Miles Grismore, of Faith Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Westside Cemetery, in Marble Rock.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at Reid's Funeral Chapel, where other arrangements are incomplete.

Catherine Anne Reed was born April 27, 1925, in Marble Rock, a daughter of Clifford Lynn and Wilma Maude (Wilson) Reed and died Thursday (Feb. 4, 1999) at the O'Hare Regional Rehabilitation Center in Denver, Colorado.

She received her education in the country schools west of Marble Rock until the seventh grade when she began attending school in Marble Rock. Following her graduation in 1943, she attended the Gates Business College in Waterloo. For several years she worked at Rath Packing Company, Waterloo.

On Sept. 29, 1948, she was united in marriage to Wilbur Woodruff in Waterloo. They lived in Chicago for several years where their daughter Connie Kay was born. Wilbur did plumbing and construction work which moved them to several places including Charles City and Hampton. During this time Catherine was employed at the Hampton Nursing Home. They also lived in Fort Stockton, Texas, and New Orleans.

Following Wilbur's death on July 3, 1985, Catherine lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Richard.

Catherine's special hobbies were knitting, gardening and especially raising flowers.

Living family members include her daughter, Connie Kay and her husband, Richard Wilson, of Aurora, Colo.; her brother, Lloyd and his wife, Mary Reed, of Marble Rock; and several nieces, cousins, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
