MASON CITY, Iowa - Nellie E. Kunzman, 87, formerly of Charles City, Iowa, and also formerly of Mason City, died Tuesday (Feb. 2, 1999) at Good Shepherd Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., with the Rev. Joel Dahlen and the Rev. Eugene Wolfley officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, and will continue one hour prior to the services on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the Nellie E. Kunzman Memorial Fund.

Nellie Esther Kunzman was born April 8, 1911, in Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Moore) Ryan.

On July 1, 1933, she was married to Henry W. Kunzman in Northwood, Worth county, Iowa.

Nellie loved baking for her grandkids, especially doughnuts and oatmeal cookies; she also enjoyed crocheting and making baby quilts. She liked to dance and was always a happy person.

Survivors include two daughters, Allie Schulz and her husband, Elroy, Mason City, and Margaret Hall and her husband, Keith, of Burt; three sons, Harvey Kunzman, Mason City, Donnie Kunzman and his wife, Phyllis, Mason City, Dewayne Kunzman and his wife, Terry, Mason City; 18 grandchildren, Richard Kunzman, Janet Carpenter, Harvey Kunzman, Sheila Borger, Judy Baker, Jim Schulz, Dianne Kotz, Dennie DeMaris, Cindy Seifken, Jennifer Mitchell, Sandra Smith, Kurt Kunzman, Kevin Kunzman, Marvin Hall, Melvin Hall, Dawn Bruns, Kathy Larson, and Dave Kunzman; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; one infant son, Gary Kunzman; two sons, Douglas Kunzman and Eddie Dittberner; one granddaughter, Tammy Kunzman; two sisters, and one brother.
