Jordan Lee Fenton was born February 24, 1994, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City, the son of Delmer Ray and Melissa Sue (Ott) Fenton, and died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, from injuries received in a bicycle accident in Rockford.
He was a second-grader at the R-R-MR School in Rockford. His teachers were delighted with his manners and consideration of others. His greatest achievement was reaching the seventh-grade reading level on Accelerated Reader.
Jordan was also a big NASCAR racing fan and Dale Earnhardt was his hero. He loved to play Nintendo Nascar 64 and Nascar 2000, and computer games such as bingo. The Minnesota Twins was his favorite baseball team. He enjoyed spending weekends with Grandma and Grandpa, wrestling with Uncle Do Do, shooting pool with Grandpa (and almost beating him), and loved to shoot clay pigeons with his family. He was looking forward to a fishing trip to Michigan with his family this summer.
Those thankful for having shared the life of Jordan, include his parents, Delmer and Missy, along with his sister, Madison, and brother, Cole, all of Marble Rock; his paternal grandparents, Dennis and Carol Fenton of Rockford; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Linda Ott, of Marble Rock; paternal great-grandparents, Fred Fenton, of Littleton, Colo., Carolyn Fisher, of Rockford; maternal great-grandparents, Harold and Til Ott, of Nora Springs, Sue Hauser, of Powersville, rural Greene; aunts, uncles and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Mary Ann Fenton, Delmer Fisher, and his maternal great-grandfather, Ray Hauser.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Jordan Lee Fenton Memorial Fund in care of the family at P.O. Box 102, Marble Rock, Iowa 50653-0102.
