ELY, MINNESOTA - Brenda S. Stevens, age 57, of Ely, Minnesota, and formerly of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died on Saturday, December 6, 2008 in her home after fighting a courageous 14-year battle with cancer.

Brenda was born on April 22, 1951 in Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Thelma Kellogg.

Brenda married Timothy Stevens on October 13, 1979 in Rapid City, South Dakota.

She is survived by her husband, Timothy; by a son, Bob (Amy) Kellogg; by a daughter, Amanda Stevens; by sisters, Karen (Bobby) Hueton of Des Moines, and Linda Hoy of Charles City; by brothers: Duane (Sandy) Kellogg, Jim Kellogg, and Bill (Patty) Kellogg, all of Charles City; by her mother, Thelma Kellogg of Charles City; and by two grandchildren, Cole and Courtney Kellogg.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Earl Kellogg; and by a brother-in-law, Terry Hoy.

A memorial service was held at the Ely Baptist church, with Pastor Bill Dossum officiating.
