ROCKFORD, IOWA — John H. Cook, 91, of Rockford, died Tuesday (Jan. 20, 1998) at the Nora Springs Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rockford United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rosemary Rohde-Frank officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

There will be no visitation. Schumburg Funeral Home, Rockford, is in charge of arrangements.

John H. Cook was born April 10, 1906, in Saverton, Missouri.

Survivors include his wife, Esther, of Rockford; children, Merrill J., of Brainerd, Minn.; Madonna M. Markle, of Des Moines; Lyle R., of Rockford; and Robert E. of Marion; a brother, James Ray, of Robinson, Ill.; two sisters, Nellie Wilson, of Nora Springs; and Sylvia Hampsmire, of Decatur, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
