NORA SPRINGS, IOWA — Lenora G. Colburn, 79, of St. Mark's Apartments, Austin, Minnesota, formerly of Nora Springs, died Monday (Jan. 19, 1998) at the St. Mark's Lutheran Home, Austin, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 101 N. Hawkeye, with the Rev. Ruth Hansen officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to St. Luke's Lutheran Church or to an organization of one's choice in memory of Lenora G. Colburn.

Lenora Georgia Colburn was born May 31, 1918, at Racine, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Schatzeberg) Ottjes.

She was united in marriage to John Colburn on Nov. 11, 1937, at the Pleasant Valley Parsonage in Racine, Minnesota. She was an active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and served as the janitor for the church for several years.

Lenora enjoyed her quilting group and volunteering at the Nora Springs Care Center. She liked spending time gardening and raising flowers, making jellies, canning and freezing produce from her garden. She also enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Colburn and his wife, Toshie, Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Verna Miller and her husband, Jay, Austin, Minn.; and Deanna Hicks and her husband, Jim, Chelsea, Mich.; nine grandchildren, John Colburn, Lori Ketchum, Patty Corona, Ken Colburn, Tom Colburn, Todd Miller, Heather Hicks, Ben Hicks, and Matt Hicks; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Jennie Beise, Stewartville, Minn.; and Edna Holland, Brownsdale, Minn.; two brothers, Elwin Ottjes, Grand Meadow, Minn.; Ernest Ottjes and his wife, Marian, Stewartville, Minn.; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Esther Ottjes, Austin, Minn.; Eunice and John Roberts, Bemidji, Minn.; and Claude and Tag Colburn, Grand Meadow, Minn.; many friends and relatives; and a special friend, Janet Hicks, Nora Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1990, her parents, five sisters and one brother.
