Richard E. McLeese, 66, of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died Saturday, July 22, 2006.

Richard Eugene McLeese was born June 17, 1940, at Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Clarence and Hazel (Woerner) McLeese. He attended the R.O.V.A. High School in Oneida, Illinois.

On August 20, 1977, he was united in marriage to Sally Sholl at Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City. Richard was a carpenter for his entire working career. His interests included Ford cars, gardening, collecting Coca Cola memorabilia, watching monster trucks, professional wrestling and car racing especially # 24 Jeff Gordon.

Richard was a loving and wonderful husband, father and caregiver to his wife and son.

Living family members include his wife, Sally McLeese of Charles City; a son Howard McLeese of Clear Lake; two brothers, Terry (Ida) McLeese of Knoxville, Illinois and Jimbo McLeese of Galesburg, Illinois; and two sisters, Connie McLeese and Betty Shaw both of Galesburg; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert “Bob” and Willis “Bill” McLeese; and two sisters, Jackie Smith and Pattie Syron.
