Scott H. McInroy, 43, of Jacksonville, Florida, died May 2, 2008, at his home in Jacksonville. Private family memorial services for Scott McInroy will be held at a later date**.

Scott Howard McInroy was born July 1, 1964, at Charles City, the son of Lenard and Marilyn (Alden) McInroy. He graduated from the Charles City High School and from Hawkeye Tech Community College with an Associates Degree in Graphic Design. He also attended NIACC with additional course work. Scott worked at the Charles City Comprehensive Systems, Des Moines Juvenile Detention Center, Airborn Express in Atlanta, Hershal Harrington Lighting Studio in Atlanta, Carousel Dentistry in Chapel Hills, North Carolina, and Lowe’s Home Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

His interests included painting, drawing, cooking, baking, dancing, playing tennis and softball, weight lifting, spending time with family and friends and restoring furniture. Scott became one of the leading U.S. restorers of carousel horses while working at Hershel Harrington Lighting Studios. He also used this skill in meticulously and beautifully restoring several houses. Scott will be greatly missed and loved by his family and friends.

Living family members include his mother, Marilyn (Jim) Nettleton of Greene; 14 brothers, and sisters, Bruce McInroy and partner Randy Vetter of Denver, Colo., Becky (Jeff) West of Cedar Falls, Vida Ott of Muncie, Ind., Don (Debbie) McInroy of Charles City, Doug (Kim) McInroy of Charles City, Sheila (Joe DeMarco of Lansing, Mich, Terry (Cindy) McInroy of Bloomington, Minn., Ron (Amy) McInroy of Waterloo, Betty (Mike) Hostetler of Harper, Kans., Phillip (Kristine) McInroy of Wagoner, Okla., Laurie McInroy and partner, Jen Schumake of Atlanta, Ga., Connie (Chuck) Stanek of Andover, Kans., Elizabeth McInroy of Raleigh, N.C., Jason McInroy of Charles City; best friend and partner, Dennis George of Jacksonville, Fla.; 30 nieces and nephews; and 8 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Howard and Zella McInroy and Ruth and Albert Carstens; and maternal grandparents, Roy and Clair Alden.
