CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Ernest Williamson, 93, of Charles City, died Saturday (Sept. 24, 2005) at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City, with the Rev. Carl Ries officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main in Charles City, with a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a Vigil Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m.

Charles City, IowaErnest Leslie Williamson was born September 24, 1912, at Hiteman, the son of John and Gladys (Masters) Williamson. He graduated from the Williamson High School.
On May 18, 1935, he was united in marriage to Lucille Kapler at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cresco. Ernest worked for the Oliver Corporation for several years then briefly for the Chicago Illinois Central Railroad returning to the Oliver/White Farm Equipment Company from which he retired and then worked as a manufacturer’s sales representative.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Charles City Country Club and the White Management Club of which he had served as president. His special interests included playing golf and chess, doing yard work and traveling. Ernest will always be remembered as being a family man. He took every opportunity to spend time with them and giving himself to them. Family vacations were always a very special time for each one.
Living family members include his wife Lucille Williamson of Charles City; a daughter, Marlene Doran of New York City, New York; a son, Duane (Debbie) Williamson of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandsons, Jeffrey and Scott Williamson; a great granddaughter, Madoline Williamson; three brothers, John (Martha) Williamson of Sun City West, Arizona, Charles Williamson of Largo, Florida, and Philip (Dorothy) Williamson of Edina, Minnesota; and a sister, Grace (Robert) Garrison of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Shelby Williamson; two brothers, Harry and Arthur Williamson; and two sisters, Jessie Edwards and Frances Dibbern.
