Sarah Howell, 72, of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died on Monday, July 18, 2005, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Sarah Joan Huston Howell was born July 11, 1933, at Iowa Falls, the daughter of Harold and Pearl (Carlson) Huston. She graduated from the Iowa Falls High School.

On November 19, 1955, she married Everett Howell at Iowa Falls. They later divorced.

Sarah worked for many years as a bookkeeper in Chicago. Currently she was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and had worked with the Stephen Ministry of the Methodist Church while in Chicago. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens Center where she had served on the site council.

Sarah took special enjoyment in listening to music of various types. She also looked forward to visiting with friends, reading and participating in book study groups and Bible study groups.

Living family members include a daughter, Peggy (Ron) Boyll of Charles City; two sons, David (Heather) Howell of Wilmette, Illinois, and Thomas (Cyndi) Howell of Indio, California; four grandchildren, Ryan and Trevor Boyll of Charles City and Andrew and Amanda Howell of Wilmette, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
