Elsie Rogholt died on August 3, 2004.

Elsie Mae Torrence Rogholt was born July 26, 1909, at DeSmet, South Dakota, the daughter of Oscar and Ellen (Firth) Torrence. She graduated from the DeSmet High School. On July 17, 1929, she was united in marriage to Alto Rogholt at DeSmet. Elsie worked for 25 years as a clerk and bookkeeper at Swenson’s Drug Store at Lake Preston, South Dakota.

After Alto’s death in November of 1991 she moved to Charles City. She was a member of the Lake Preston Lutheran Church. Her interests included bowling and also playing bingo especially with her friend Harriet. Elsie also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Living family members include a daughter, Pat (Brian) Crane of Charles City; three granddaughters, Cheri Jaacks, Melanie Crane and Michelle Toman; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Ernster of Mitchell, South Dakota, and Julia Ryan of Oakes, North Dakota; a sister-in-law, Beulah Rogholt, of DeSmet, South Dakota; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and three sisters.
