Naomi “Fran” Huxsol, 89, of Charles City, died Friday, January 19, 2007, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Naomi Frances Logan Huxsol was born November 30, 1917, in Persia, Tennessee, the daughter of John and Lottie (Pitts) Logan. She attended Stillman Valley High School in Stillman Valley, Illinois.

On October 30, 1944, she was united in marriage to Walter Huxsol at Halls, Tennessee. In 1946 they moved south of Charles City where they farmed until Walter’s retirement in 1981 at which time they moved into Charles City.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Heritage Club and the Chat-A-Bit Club. Fran’s interests included cooking, decorating her home, collecting dolls and bells, and reading and working crossword puzzles.

Fran always enjoyed being with her family and looked forward to spending time with them. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was dearly loved and will live on in fond memories by the loved ones left behind.

Living family members include two sons, James (Beth) Huxsol of Brookfield, Wis. and Robert (Laurie) Huxsol of Sahuarita, Arizona; two daughters, Connie (Van) Hertel of Alton, New Hampshire and Patricia Huxsol of Charles City; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; two sisters, Jo O’Briant of Brownfield, Texas and Merle Sherman of Hobbs, New Mexico; and three brothers, Robert Logan of Franklin Grove, Illinois, Gary (Brenda) Logan of Brownwood, Texas, and William (Jean) Logan of Ocala, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Walter on November 27, 1996; two grandsons, James Huxsol, Jr. and David Fisher; three sisters, Hedy McCoy, Jeanette Gilroy and Marlene Ebaugh; a brother, John Logan, Jr.; and a son-in-law, Monty Anderson.
