Evelyn Marrs, 84, of Neosho, Missouri, died on Monday, January 10, 2005, at an Anderson, Missouri Nursing Home after an illness of several months. Funeral Services for Evelyn Marrs will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2005, at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City, with the Rev. Paul Wilcox officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, Floyd county, Iowa.

Evelyn Ellen Watkins was born August 6, 1920, in Gettysburg, South Dakota, to Claude and Jennie (Nelson) Watkins. She was raised and educated in Charles City. She was united in marriage to Bill Edwin Marrs on June 28, 1949, in Waseca Minnesota.

Mrs. Marrs moved to Neosho over twenty years ago; she had previously lived in Cassville, Missouri and in the state of Minnesota. She was a homemaker and a member of the Neosho United Methodist Church.

Living family members include one son, Jerold “Jerry” Marrs of Neosho; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Gerald “Jerry” Watkins of Charles City; and one sister, Beverly Jacobs of Ionia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bill on August 20, 1998.
