Charles City, IowaSelma Lincoln, age 96, a resident of 408 2nd Avenue, Charles City, died on Thursday, February 10, 2005, at the Salsbury Baptist Home in Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa.
Funeral services for Selma Lincoln will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Rev. Paul Wilcox, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will continue at the funeral home an hour prior to the service.
Selma Henrietta Weghorst Lincoln was born January 26, 1909, in Floyd County, the daughter of William and Bertha (Packenbush) Lincoln. She graduated from the Charles City High School. On
October 1, 1938, she was united in marriage to Merle Lincoln.Selma worked as an Assistant Librarian at the Charles City Library from 1926 to 1942 and from 1960 to 1974. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and past member of the Charles City Women’s Club and Rebekah Lodge. Selma enjoyed homemaking, working outdoors, and attending family get togethers.
Living family members include a son, Bill Lincoln of Charles City; five nieces and nephews, Joan (Dennis) Smith of Charles City, Lester (Marsha) Lincoln of Waverly, Iowa, Janan (Dick) Egan of Marion, Iowa, Roger (Janet) Stiles of Iowa City and Nancy (Steve) Jacobson of West Des Moines; and special friends that she considered as family, Judy (Paul) Ewald.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on November 28, 1976; and two sisters, Gladys Jellenik and Gertrude Stiles.
