Evelyn Krall, 84, of Charles City, died Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Evelyn Leola White Krall was born September 5, 1921, at Waverly, the daughter of Charles and Maude O’Rourke. She graduated from the Nashua High School in 1938.

On October 18, 1947, she was united in marriage to Edward Krall at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. In her early years Evelyn worked for the Oliver Corporation and the phone company in Nashua. After their marriage they operated Krall’s Café in Colwell until moving to Charles City in 1964. At that time she worked in the Red Owl bakery and then at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home.

Evelyn enjoyed cooking, gardening and entertaining family and friends.

She will be remembered for her caring attitude which extended to both family and friends. Family was important to Evelyn and she always looking forward to those time when they could be together.

Living family members include her husband Edward Krall of Charles City; three children, Karel (Jeff) Brengman of Rochester, Minnesota, Janis (Bob) Steblay of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and Donald Krall of Charles City; three grandchildren, Ryan, Kiersten and Marissa; two great grandchildren Julian and Vivica; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter; a sister; and six brothers.
