Charles City, IowaHenry “Hank” Walters was born February 26, 1921, at Aplington, the son of Henry and Lena (Brinkman) Walters. Following his education he worked in the area at a locker, and worked with his father plastering. Hank served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II serving aboard the USS Colorado.
On February 22, 1955, he was united in marriage to Patricia Otto in Bethany, Missouri. Hank was the owner/operator of North Iowa Plastering Company and worked throughout the Midwest. The couple spent most of their married life in Charles City before moving to Elma. Hank was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Charles City, and the VFW.
Living family members include his wife, Patricia, of Elma; three children, Debra (Kenny) Holzer, Charles City, Mark (Tami) Walters, Seattle, Washington, and Randy Walters of Ohio; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn DeVries and Merna Koppedryer, both of Aplington, and Lela Uhlenhopp, of Ackley. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jeanne Walters; infant brother and brother Richard; and four sisters, Gertrude, Swanetta, Wilma, and Doris.
