Diane Tynan, 51, of Rockford, formerly of Charles City, died Thursday, March 9, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.

Funeral services for Diane Tynan will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City. Pastor David Werges will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Visitation will continue Tuesday at the church an hour prior to the service.

Diane Marie McDonald Tynan was born November 25, 1954, at New Hampton, the daughter of James and Darlene (Johnson) McDonald, Jr. She graduated from Marion High School in 1973.

On December 15, 1973, she was united in marriage to Richard Tynan, Sr. at Cedar Rapids. During her career she worked with Kid's Castle and also was the proprietor of the Rockford Diner. She was a member of Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church and Women of the Moose. Diane enjoyed cooking and will be remembered for her potato salad. She also collected spoons and teddy bears. The grandchildren always held a very special place in her heart and she always looked forward to attending their activities.

Living family members include her husband, Richard Tynan, Sr. of Rockford; two children, Richard (Tonia) Tynan, Jr. of Rockford and Racheal Tynan (Jeremiah G. Ferch) of Charles City; seven grandchildren, Mercedes and Lexus Tynan, Cole, Chelsea, Justice. J.J., and Jesup Ferch; two brothers, Terry (Rhonda) McDonald of Cedar Rapids and Dennis (Mary) McDonald of Maringo; a sister, Tamie McDonald of Atkins, Tex.; a special aunt and uncle, Ronald and Anna Hurd of Nashua; special friends, Lynette and DuWayne Paulsen of Rockford; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a niece, Tiffany Jones; and a nephew, Jason Allen McDonald.
