Glenn Greenzweig, loving husband and father passed away at 95, in Mercedes, Tex., on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2006, at the Valley Grande Manor Nursing Home in Weslaco, Tex.

Glenn Robert Greenzweig was born May 2, 1911, at Rockford, Iowa, the son of Robert and Threse (Hirsch) Greenzweig. He graduated from the Charles City High School in 1928.

In 1935 he married Alta Winters. Alta died on April 29, 1941.

On December 31, 1943, he was united in marriage to Joyce Bracken at Austin, Minnesota. Glenn was a farmer for over 40 years in the West St. Charles community.

Glenn’s interests were in sports, especially softball, horseshoes, and golf. He was highly respected among his church affiliations and also was a 33rd degree Mason. Glenn and Joyce retired to Rio Grande Valley, Texas. 30 yrs ago where he enjoyed socializing with friends, playing cards, and being a member of Central Christian Church at Weslaco, Texas.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Joyce Greenzweig of Mercedes, Texas; two daughters, Lucille Chapman and her husband Don of Denton, Texas, and Cosy McLemore and her husband Randy of Dallas, Texas; a son, Mahlon Greenzweig and his wife Sharon of Highland Village, Texas; a brother, Virgil Greenzweig and his wife Florence of Charles City, Iowa; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; a daughter, Glenda Greenzweig; a brother; and a sister.
