Thelma Hansen, 89, of Charles City, died on Tuesday, February 22, 2005, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City, Iowa.

Private Family Graveside Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.

Thelma Caroline Hansen was born November 7, 1915, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Margaret (Gray) McClout. She was raised and educated in Cerro Gordo County. On June 14, 1934, she was united in marriage to Chris Hansen at the West St. Charles Parsonage. The couple farmed near Niles Corner, rural Charles City. Thelma also spent many years working with the nursing home and cared for people in their homes. She was a past member of the Assembly of God Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, Senior Center and Moose Lodge.

Surviving family members include her son Larry Hansen and wife Nancy of Mankato, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Melody Schmeling and husband George of Eagle Lake, Minnesota, and Andrew Hansen of Eden Prairie, and fiancé Andrea Prokupek of Prior Lake, Minnesota; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Alexis, and Autumn Schemeling, all of Eagle Lake, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Chris in 1958; and two brothers.
