Pauline Hackbart, 86, of Charles City, died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Pauline Bertha Vietor Hackbart was born December 5, 1919, at Charles City, the daughter of John and Bertha (Pol) Vietor. She graduated in 1937 from the Amery High School at Amery, Wisc. and then from LaJames Beauty School.

Pauline and her family came to Charles City in 1937. On September 27, 1944, she was united in marriage to Raymond Hackbart at Mason City. Pauline worked as a beauty operator before becoming proprietor of Polly’s Beauty Shop. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Living family members include two daughters, Gene (Blair) Stadelhofer of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. and Paula (Jim) Beitler of Granger, Ind.; a son, Terry (Martha) Hackbart of Golden, Colo.; five grandchildren, Scott (Heather) Stadelhofer, Kelly (Matt) Rubel, Sarah (Steve) Xiao, and David and Jessica Hackbart; two great grandchildren, Davis Rubel and Jadon Xiao; and many nieces and nephews including Bev DeWalle of Charles City and John Isaacson of River Falls, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on January 1, 1978; and two sisters, Kay Heying and Gertrude Isaacson.
