James Hector, 65, of Charles City, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City. No services are being planned at this time.

James Herman Hector was born May 2, 1941, at Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, the son of Herman and Evelyn (Grimm) Hector. Jim lived with his parents until they moved from the farm into Colwell at which time he became a resident of Handicap Village in Clear Lake. He remained there until moving to Charles City a little over a year ago. While living at Handicap Village he enjoyed the outdoor activities especially working with the animals and gardening.

Living family members include a brother, Richard (Rhonda) Hector of Charles City; a sister, Sandra Nosbisch of Mesa, Ariz.; and four nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
