CHARLES CITY — Ralph Flick, 89, a resident of 408 Fifth Ave., died Tuesday (Feb. 8, 2005) at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Carl Ries, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main in Charles City, with the rosary recited at 4:30 p.m. and a vigil scriptural wake service held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church an hour prior to the Mass.

Ralph Flick, 89, a resident of 408 5th Avenue, Charles City, died Tuesday, February 8, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

A funeral Mass for Ralph Flick will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rev. Carl Ries, pastor, will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday where the Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. and a Vigil Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church an hour prior to the Mass.

Ralph Peter Flick was born March 13, 1915, near Ionia, Chicakasaw county, Iowa, the son of Michael and Julia (Diederich) Flick. He received his education at St. Boniface School in Ionia.

On March 8, 1948, he was united in marriage to Mildred Renneberg at Cudworth, Saskatchewan, Canada. They farmed near Ionia all their lives moving to Charles City in 1998. Ralph also was proprietor of Flick Electric for over 50 years.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Chickasaw Fliers and the Fish and Game Club. Ralph’s interests included flying airplanes, which he did for many years, fishing in Canada, metalworking and building garden tractors.

Living family members include his wife, Mildred of Charles City; a daughter, Judy (James) Chase of Waterloo; a granddaughter Christine Chase of Chicago; two brothers, Louis (Bernice) Flick of Ionia, and Lawrence (Elaine) Flick of Waterloo; and a sister, Agnes (Lambert) Renneberg of Menahga, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Leo, Norbert and John Flick.
