Helen Peters, 81, of Charles City, died Monday, September 11, 2006, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.
Helen Marie Dostart Peters was born July 15, 1925, the daughter of Mathew and Martha (Yuech) Dostart at Charles City. She attended Charles City Community High School.

On February 14, 1942 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Peters at Charles City. Helen was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, past president of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and past Cub Scout Den Mother. Her interests included embroidery, sewing, camping and fishing.

Living family members include her husband of 64 years Lawrence of Charles City; two sons, David (Louise) Peters of Harvard, Ill., Jon (Petra) Peters of South Elgin, Ill.; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother Bob Dostart of Portland, Ore.; and a sister Marlys Howe of Charles City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and four brothers.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Hospice of North Iowa, 1003 Gilbert Street, Charles City, Iowa
