Arlene Robbins, 85, of New Hampton, formerly of Ionia, died Friday, March 28, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center at New Hampton.

Arlene Kathrine Boldt Robbins was born January 20, 1923, in Tama County the daughter of Henry and Edith (Bradley) Boldt. She received her education from rural schools in Tama County.

On April 16, 1945, she was united in marriage to Lloyd H. Robbins at Waterloo. In 1961 they moved to the Ionia area where they purchased a farm. After Lloyd’s death on December 14, 2002, Arlene continued to live on the farm, moving to New Hampton a year later. Arlene also operated a cleaning service for 39 years. Her interests included gardening, cooking, sewing and taking care of her house plants. Arlene always enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Living family members include three children, Lloyd (Janice) Robbins of Ionia, Duane (Christine) Robbins of Charles City and Cathryn Jenn of New Hampton; eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Donna (Don) Troutwine of Waterloo; a brother, Calvin Boldt of Dysart; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Lois Riggle.
