Dorothy Lindsay, 95, Nora Springs, died Thursday, October 31, 2002, at the Nora Springs Care Center. A memorial service was held Saturday November 2, 2002 at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, Nora Springs with the Rev. Terra Amundson of the First United Methodist Church, Nora Springs officiating. Inurnment was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Rudd. Sheckler Colonial Chapel, Nora Springs, was in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy was born April 28, 1907, in Mason City, the daughter of William and Theo (Haynes) Barbour. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1925 and attended Mason City Junior College.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Prescott P. Lindsay on October 1, 1927, at her parents home in Mason City. They farmed in the Nora Springs area for many years.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends and family. She moved into the Nora Springs Care Center in 1989, where she continued her hobby of quilting and crafts.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Bob Lindsay and his wife, Wilma, Nora Springs; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Prescott, in 1984; her parents, a granddaughter-in-law, Carlenda Lindsay in 1994; one sister, Florence Le Coeq; and two brothers, George Barbour and Dr. William Barbour.
