Doris Fitch, 85, of Charles City, died Friday, January 28, 2005, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home.

Funeral services for Doris Fitch will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Rev. Paul Wilcox, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. Visitation will continue at the funeral home an hour prior to the service.

Doris E. Eggleston was born March 30, 1919 in Black Hawk County to Milo A. and Eva (Fuller) Eggleston. She was raised in Waverly and graduated from Waverly High School. She was united in marriage to Fred W. Fitch on August 28, 1940, in Charles City. The couple lived in Minnesota, Waverly, and Charles City.

Living family members include her son and his wife, Edwin and Hazel Fitch; and one granddaughter and her husband, Louise and Steve Tatum, all of Marshalltown; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Fred L. Fitch in October 2004; and 12 brothers and sisters.
