Chad Speedy, 23, of Charles City, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Pastor Eric Sloter, of the Cedar Valley Community Church, will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Chad Alan Speedy was born April 14, 1984, at Iowa Falls, the son of Cindy Barritt. He received his GED and worked in construction. Chad was an outdoorsman and enjoyed camping and going for walks.

He also looked forward to playing video games and pool, grilling and frolicking with his dog and cat. Chad always looked forward to the time he could spend with his daughter.

Living family members include his special friend, Do-Do Bedard of Charles City; a daughter, Amber Bedard of Charles City; his mother, Cindy Barritt of Charles City; a sister, Jennifer (Lee) Griffen of Charles City; his maternal grandfather, Walter Barritt of Voorhies; two uncles, Bruce Barritt of Charles City and Glen (Shelia) Barritt of Marshalltown; an aunt, Tracey Barritt of Waterloo; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; and maternal grandmother, Lois Barritt.
