Dewey “Sonny” Stillions, 75, of Charles City, died Sunday, December 25, 2005, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Dewey Edward Stillions was born December 19, 1930, in Floyd County the son of Dewey and Dora (Herman) Stillions, Sr. He received his education at the Charles City High School. Dewey proudly served in the Unites States Army during the Korean Conflict.

On June 9, 1952, he was united in marriage to Mary Jensen. They later divorced. Dewey worked as a welder and a tree surgeon. His hobbies included fishing, watching westerns, cooking milligan stew and being with his dog and good friend Podugie. He also looked forward to spending time with his family.

Living family members include three children, Doug Stillions of Fredricksburg, Brian (Jean) Stillions of Charles City, and Eugenie (Russ) Schmidt of Dunkerton; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Lyle (Sharon) Stillions of Greene, and Admiral (Florene) Stillions of Stockton, Missouri; and a sister, Betty “Janie” Herman of Charles City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bradley Stillions; a grandson, Trevor Stillions; and a sister, Doris Clay Wall.
